The Copper Kettle Reeth Ltd
About This Spot
Nestled just beside the village green in Reeth, The Copper Kettle offers a quietly inviting retreat where the pace slows and the everyday softens. Stepping inside, you're met with an atmosphere that feels both familiar and refreshingly unpretentious—a place where time lends itself to good conversations, warm smiles, and the comforting rituals of a well-loved café.
The room hums gently with the sounds of friendly chatter and occasional laughter, reflecting the easy camaraderie of a team who clearly enjoy what they do. It’s this natural chemistry that gives the space a welcoming glow, making it more than a pit stop for those passing through—it becomes a moment to savor.
Here, the menu shapes a comforting backdrop to the day, with offerings that range from freshly brewed coffee paired with generous slices of cake to more hearty, homemade touches like soup or toasties that feel perfect after exploring the surrounding countryside. Whether it’s a simple pot of tea served with extra care, or a savory sandwich filled with local character, each bite quietly affirms the café’s unpretentious and genuine approach to food.
Beyond the food and drink, The Copper Kettle thoughtfully supports visitors with practical touches—a clean, tidy space and little extras that suggest a keen sense of hospitality. It’s the kind of place where easy conversations between staff and guests contribute as much warmth as the hearth in winter, nurturing a sense of local camaraderie that lingers long after your cup is empty.

A lovely place on the edge of the village green. Welcomed by friendly staff and shown out table. I had poached eggs on toast and my wife had toast. A clean and tidy place with toilets and made a good place to stop for morning coffee.

This place is a gem and an essential stop for the C2C. Good coffee and cakes. I ordered a toasty as well which was so good, Holy heck. Bur the highlight for me was the staff They're such jokers and have good chemistry, it does radiate. I got to charge all my such here and fill my water bottles also. Very helpful so thank you again

Super lovely cafe. Friendly staff and tasty food. The Brie, Sausage and chilli jam toastie is spot on after a walk. Thank you.

Great quality food at reasonable prices and very friendly service. They also have regular extra things for different occasions such as scones for Cancer Research that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Had tea and cake. The carrot cake was a bit dry unfortunately. We were given extra hot water for the pot of tea which was nice to get without asking for extra hot water. Friendly staff. All in all it was a nice and cosy little cafe.

Maybe this little place should have a signature tune - I started off with one in late 1970's 'The Copper Kettle' sung by Joan Baez at the time. I still do it now if necessary in folk clubs, Eire being a good place as the song is about moonshining and a lot has been done over there. I love any little place that's dog friendly, next time I'm down here we'll take ours. Maybe if you do this music look history up for the story behind it. Tell your listeners what it's about and carry on doing that. My history at school was awful, since I've started doing this I've learnt a lot more. Skye boat song, bonny Prince Charlie etc. Geordie history with Blaydon races. You like history try doing this. You can sing without guitar. I'm not a good player. If you write music take it from recordings pausing to catch up. You'll find a new lot friends who do same plus a different hobby. Holidays with family it led me to karaoke.

One of the best bacon butties I've had. Good coffee. Good service, good price. All served in a proper Dales cafe. Couldn't ask for more.

I chanced upon The Cooper Kettle as I rode through Reeth on my motorbike, touring Yorkshire and looking for somewhere to stop. What a fortunate find. The staff were friendly and engaging and confirmed that at 11.20am, I was just in time to choose from the breakfast menu. I went for a full English with a pot of tea, which came complete with a jug of hot water... as should be the norm. I didn't want any black pudding and that was happily substituted with an extra rasher of bacon. I have to say I like a full English breakfast, I have eaten quite a few in different places while on my motorcycle adventures, but the breakfast at The Copper Kettle has to be one of the most tasty breakfastsI have ever had. The ingredients were all high quality and were cooked to perfection. When next in the area, I shall be certain to call again.
